Jennifer Riles
Jenn is a Registered Social Worker through the New Brunswick Social Workers Association as well as the Nova Scotia Social Worker’s Association. She grew up in a military family, living in Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, Germany and New Brunswick. She now considers Fredericton NB her hometown. As an adult, she has moved around Canada, most recently coming home after more than 7 years in Iqaluit, NU.
Jenn enjoys listening to podcasts (yes, mostly true crime), doing puzzles, cross stitching, and spending time outside. She has been in the human services field for more than 15 years, starting out as a human services worker for a child with autism. This led her to go back to school and become a social worker.
She has received a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Criminology and a Bachelor of Social Work from Saint Thomas University, and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has had many roles as a social worker, including front line child protection, poverty reduction, policy reform, crime prevention and management over unique programs in Nunavut. Jenn has worked as a therapist for the last two years and believes this is where she belongs. She likes being part of new and innovative mental health treatments she believes have the potential to change the field of mental health for the better.
Jenn can offer support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, ADHD and stress. Jenn offers sessions to individuals aged 12 and up. She approaches her work with a cultural and trauma informed lens as well as meeting the client where they are and creating a personalized plan for their therapy journey.
